The appendicular skeleton is made up of the bones of the upper and lower limbs and the their respective girdles that support each pair of limbs.
The paired (left and right) bones of the upper limb—the humerus..., radius, ulna, carpals, metacarpals, and phalanges—are supported by the pectoral girdle, which is comprosed of the paired clavicles and scapulae. The paired (left and right) bones of the lower limb—the femur, patella, tibia, fibula, tarsals, metatarsals, and phalanges—are supported by the pelvic girdle, which is composed of the paired os coxae, or pelvic bones.
